The Bad Seed?is William March’s last novel published in the year of his death (1954). The book was a critical and commercial success. It’s main character is an eight-year old sociopathic girl and a serial killer in the making. Three films have been made of the story in 1956, 1985 and 2018 (the last two for TV). Immediately after publication, the book was adapted for the stage by Maxwell Anderson and opened on Broadway in 1954 to great acclaim.?
