Third of Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes crime novels. It followed The Final Solution where both Holmes and Moriarty plunge to their death at the Reichenbach Falls (Switzerland). It is considered one of the most famous stories ever written and received a score of a perfect 100 from Sherlockian scholars. The story was serialised in The Strand Magazine between 1901 and 1902. There have been numerous film and TV adaptations of the story, as well as audio and theatre productions. Holmes has been played by many well-known actors including: Eille Norwood, Basil Rathbone, Peter Cushing, Stewart Granger and laterly Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller.
